Cody Strout, CSI is an Independent Colorist living in Richmond, Virginia available for work worldwide.

Cody believes color should always support the story being told. Light and color can be a powerfully emotive tool, and when used with intention can reveal themes and emotional nuances that may otherwise be elusive.

Passionate about championing the talent and vision of filmmakers, Cody brings artistic intuition and 13+ years of industry experience to every project where he thrives in the unique blend of creative finesse and technical precision. 

After seven years of shaping images both behind the camera and in post-production, Cody began working as a full time colorist in 2018 joining the footage licensing company, Filmsupply, as their lead colorist and content curator. In the summer of 2020 he opened his own studio where he continues to work with a wide array of agencies and production companies on projects for brands like Amazon, Disney, Chevrolet, Comcast, and more.

Cody is proud to be a member of Colourist Society International, holding certifications in Dolby Vision as well as DaVinici Resolve, and has had the pleasure of seeing a number of his projects win various advertising and film festival awards over the years. He finds creative inspiration in travel, the culinary arts, browsing art museums, riding his road bike, finessing his espresso, and most of all, spending time with his wife, Victoria, and their new daughter.
